Kino Flo’s Diva-Lite 41 is another addition to the Diva-lite family and continues to be one of our most popular Interview and small studio fixture. Introduced in April at NAB 2018, its new form factor fits into smaller travel case to save space for location work. It also provides a smaller profile for studios that have low ceilings. The Diva-Lite 41 comes as center mount with a carry handle or yoke mount option. Both versions feature four corner bumpers that can be used to hang from rope or wire. A honeycomb Louver (90° or 60°) is held in place with Velcro and gives direction to the light or can be easily removed to give broad coverage over the set.
The Green/Magenta control can be scaled from 0 to 100, where 25 = ¼ correction, 50 = ½ correction and 100 = full correction
The Diva-Lite 41’s “All in One” design includes standard DMX in/out ports for cable as well as wireless DMX connectivity (Lumen Radio®). Additional specifications include universal AC voltage input 100-240vac (650 Milliamps at 230vac) as well as a 3-Pin XLR for 24vdc operation (6.25A).
Kino Flo’s Diva-lite 41 LED include 4 menu options, one white, two colors and FX menu. The White menu features include Dimming, Kelvin and Green/Magenta control channels. Dimming range is from .02 to 100 percent without introducing any flicker and can be adjusted in coarse or fine mode by pressing the control knob in/out. The Kelvin range is tunable from 2700K tungsten to 6500K daylight. The Green/Magenta control can be scaled from 0 to 100, where 25 = ¼ correction,
50 = ½ correction and 100 = full correction.
The Diva-Lite LED DMX operates on universal AC power or battery power and needs only 1.3A at 120VAC or 7A at 24VDC (Diva-Lite LED 30). The Diva-Lite LED’s cost savings from low energy and long LED life continues Kino Flo’s reputation as an environmentally friendly lighting company.
The Diva-Lite LED is comprised of a lightweight fixture design with built-in barndoors and a removable 90° honeycomb louver. The center mount with baby receiver lollipop can mount directly onto a baby stand or hang from a grid with a baby pipe clamp.
The Diva-Lite LED features state of the art electronics with onboard and DMX dimming with DMX auto terminate. The five push-button Kelvin presets can be fine-tuned to custom settings from 2700K to 6500K with a turn of a dial. Light levels do not change when selecting Kelvin settings. The Diva-Lite LED also features a Green/Magenta control to match the spectral sensitive curves of the most popular cameras and other light sources on the set. With built-in DMX and Lumen Radio® receivers, the Diva-Lite LED’s can be controlled by DMX and/or DMX wireless. With universal input at 100-240VAC, the Diva-Lite LED 30 uses only 1.3A at 120VAC or 7A at 24VDC. The unique features and portable design make the Diva-Lite LED a versatile tool in the studio or on location.
Long LED Life
LED’s are well known as being energy efficient, lasting for thousands of hours. While Kino Flo’s Diva-Lite LED also has a long LED life, the Diva-Lite LED’s unique design will maintain its color-correct color temperature.
True Match® Color-Correct
As with all Kino Flo products, the Diva-Lite LED has been specially formulated to match the spectral distribution curves of today’s HD film and video equipment. The Diva-Lite LED has a high color rendering index of CRI 95. Even while dimming, the fixture is flicker-free and without color shift.
Heat Management Design
For Kino Flo, heat management is a critical design element of fixture design. The physical heat or buildup heat within the LED fixture will directly influence the color temperature, lumen performance and life of an LED. The Diva-Lite LED’s unique design operates coolly, consumes very low energy (1.3A, 120VAC) and is properly ventilated to maintain a stable color temperature. A well maintained temperature extends the lumen maintenance, color temperature and life of an LED.
Cost savings cover a broad range of concerns:
- Lower energy costs
- Less heat so lower air conditioning expenses
Energy Savings Calculations
With the push for reducing fossil fuel consumption, TV studios are looking at cooler more efficient lighting systems to reduce the costs and save energy. Part of this process involves generating energy values to determine savings. One of the most important values is Btu/kWh.
British Thermal Units per Kilowatt Hour
A light generates a percentage of usable light and the rest in heat. For example, a standard incandescent light bulb converts only 11 percent of its electrical input into visible light, while the rest is dissipated directly as heat. There are energy costs involved in cooling the studio environment. The measure of Btu/kWh is a means of calculating the thermal loads related to operating lighting.
Use the following information to calculate Btu/kWh Watts to Btu:
1 kWh = 3413 Btu/Hr
1 Watt = 3.413 Btu/Hr
3.413 Btu per Watt-hour
